Engineer dies at Hill boiler blast, MPs call him ‘an ordinary and hard-working Canadian’

Transportation Minister John Baird says he wants a full investigation into steam plant's boiler blast to ensure it doesn't happen again.

MPs say the 50-year-old engineer who died last week when a boiler blew at the Cliff Heating and Cooling Plant that provides heat to the Parliament Buildings and as many as 52 other downtown buildings was an "ordinary and hard-working Canadian" man.
