The ‘fiscal imbalance’ is more of a political issue than an economic or fiscal one
Debating fiscal federalism is all the rage these days. In part this is because the new federal Conservative government has promised to fix the federal-provincial "fiscal imbalance." It is not exactly clear, however, what they intend to fix or even what they think is broken.
