Canada’s regime governing conflict of interest has reached jalopy status
Last week's proposed ethics package is in keeping with Prime Minister Jean Chretien's habit of governing as little as possible. It is designed to address only the perception of corruption in government, and falls well short of what's needed to clean up federal politics.
