Reining in that AI rascal
Our government is now musing about putting guardrails around AI. A commendable and noteworthy public policy objective, but we need to invest in the technological equivalent of a lariat, as that brown blur in your peripheral vision is the arse of that AI horse as it leaves the barn, the farm property, and the planet's inner atmosphere.
OTTAWA—In 1983, while attending Clarkson University in northern New York, I inadvertently became immersed in the computer revolution when the institution became the first in the world to provide a desktop computer, the Zenith Z-100, to every student (screw you, Drexel!).
