The federal government needs to stop hiring generalist policy writers and start hiring experts in their field, and then hire managers and leaders with people and management expertise. That’s how we modernize this government.

Yes, the federal government is bloated and there are too many full-time-equivalents doing little to contribute to the well-being of the country and citizens. People are instead paid to check multiple boxes on many internal risk-reduction documents.
