Funding Practice Ready Assessment programs across Canada provides an accelerated pathway to license internationally-trained physicians.
The federal government should fund at least 4,500 Practice Ready Assessment program slots across Canada over a four-year period, write Senators Stanley Kutcher and Mohamed-Iqbal Ravalia.

Canada is in a primary health care crisis. We have written about this before, and it is not unknown that some six-and-a-half million Canadians do not have a family doctor. We require thousands of practice-ready physicians to meet the primary health care needs of Canadians.
