First National Day for Truth and Reconciliation happens Sept. 30

The first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, established Canada-wide following federal legislation passed in June, happens Sept. 30. The day fulfills a Truth and Reconciliation Commission Call to Action for a day to ‘honour survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.’
