‘B.C. is burning and we’re only right at the very beginning,’ says MP Doherty as British Columbia’s wildfires season officially starts

MPs in the middle of the fire zone say the federal response has been adequate so far, but with the fire season just getting underway, more help will be needed.
Conservative MP Todd Doherty tweeted this pic on July 19 in Williams Lake, B.C. There are more than 150 wildfires still burning in British Columbia, and some 45,000 people had been evacuated. Today, some 6,000 are still on evacuation order and more than 300 buildings have been destroyed.
