Former Alberta premier, Jim Prentice, 60, was killed in a plane crash on Oct. 13 shortly after it took off from Kelowna airport in B.C. Mr. Prentice was a father and grandfather, and was a federal cabinet minister in various portfolios while serving as a Conservative MP for for Calgary Centre-North. A state memorial is planned for Oct. 28 in Calgary at 11 a.m. (local time).
