The only conundrum for Cancon is its continued conflation with foreign service production

We need a system that preferably recognizes the importance of key creative talent being Canadian—full stop.

On March 4, The Hill Times published a commentary by University of Ottawa Professor Michael Geist entitled, “The Cancon conundrum: why policies to promote ‘Canadian stories’ need an overhaul.” Geist’s comments are based on his response to the Broadcast and Telecommunications Legislative Review Panel Report, or the Yale report, as he refers to it.
