The story of a back-up goalie made a bleak February bearable

OTTAWA—In Canada, February can be a cruel month. Perhaps almost as cruel as April, as T.S. Eliot wrote in The Waste Land. But by February, the winter seems to have stretched out forever, and the snow that was so lovely to shovel in November is now just another chore to avoid. While there is more light and the days are longer, they feel colder.
